I still have an AX80. Kinda always wanted an AX60 due to its integration with the S612 (I used a S612 for many years before replacing it with an S700 and eventually moving away from Akai and getting into Ensoniq samplers. I will put this video in my queue and watch all the way through when I get a chance. I’m curious to remember the differences between it and the AX80 as I haven’t had my hands on an AX60 in decades. 😀

One of my first VSTIs, yes I'm an old composer, I recently bought version 2, I take the opportunity to immediately move on to this final recreation of "Oscar", I like the fact that it's very inspiring, it suggests melodies, arpeggios, but I admit it's my thing, there's also "Unique" by Sugar Bytes which is aptly named! Nice presentation. impOSCar has always been one of my favorite VST’s, and this new version is killer. Every time Behringer asks for new synth recommendations, I always suggest the Oscar. This is one synth that would benefit users if they had a physical knob to grab. The factory programming is one of the best offerings of any synth out there. Kudos to GForce!

Cars came out the same year as Rappers Delight but the Synth sound in Cars, the sleek Euro look of Gary, and the whole Gargantuan image of what Synth Music was going to become just seemed to flash before my eyes 👀 and I was a Brooklyn inner-city child but somehow I just didn’t connect with the urban scene, I wanted more, I felt the complexity of the music itself just calling out to me!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ if people like Numan or not but to me nothing before Numan sounded like anything after Numan; when Cars hit, and I was there when it did, that was the moment I took the path of the synth rather than Rap!! 😂🚗💨💨💨💨💨💨💨

It has a very Pre-Numan sound to-it; like everything modular that ever existed before synth went pop sounded like this. Now, I’m not an expert but I’m just reminded of maybe all those antique documentaries coincidentally the ones where you would hear your early first British Narrators who’s voices would transport you to somewhere in medieval times!! 🤩🤩

I’ve had my poly 800 for over a year, and it’s been great, but the detune isn’t working right (it works for a minute but then just stops completely) so I’m not playing it at the moment.

The only time jaw dropping should be referenced when talking/writing about a drum machine is if someone got smashed in the face with a drum machine.😅 Seriously though, looks/sounds pretty cool for the folks that are into this sort of thing.

I remember when this came out. It was really good but it was competing against the Microwave XT. I mean....Alex you will love that thing....

The Juno also has DCO, I don't know why you keep saying it's completely analog. I got the EX-8000, sounds amazing with ext. fx. Was gassing for a Juno, but the DW rack sounds better I think.

Would you consider doing any follow up reviews on this having spent enough time with it? Would you consider buying it again?

The idea of the ring is fine. The company producing it is out of the game however, so I wonder what to do when the ring eventually loses its battery capacity, how can it be replaced to be still functional? Is there actually any possibility to see inside it what kind of acumulator it is?

Amazing stuff... I'm a huge fan of the JD800 but have to make do with a JD-08. It's my best sounding synth mo doubt. I think too many people get wrapped up in it must be analogue which has it's place but great digital is amazing. Maybe not old enough to be vintage the Virus TI is an amazing digital synth. I loved the sound of the EMU proteus you played I might try and pick one up. Another couple of crackers the Korg Prophecy, Kurzweil K2000 ( I still have the K2000R)

What No kurzweils?? Pc4 or k2700?
